Or whatever it’s called.
It’s just fascinating and inspiring and challenging and I feel like it could take you to really amazing places, mentally and physically.
So… any suggestions?
http://www.balancecommunity.com/Slackliner-Database Find someone here that is in your area, link up with them and give it a try. When you fall in love with it, get yourself a kit and start progressing.
I started on a primitive system (a length of webbing and several carabiners to tension with) I personally think this is the best place to start for someone who has some background. I had great balance from all the board sports and cycling I partook in before I’d ever seen a slackline. If you have a good sense of balance already get a primitive system, It will grow with you (I have a $1000+ pulley system and I still regularly set up my primitive lines) If you don’t have great balance to start with I would recommend going with a two inch line that has a ratchet for tensioning. It will limit you in terms of how far you’ll be able to progress with it, but it will be far easier to learn how to set up and walk.
I don’t have any sponsorship deals (yet… call me) so I won’t recommend a specific kit, but there are many basic slackline kits available that a quick google search will lead you to. Go with something that others seem to be using with success.
I’m glad to hear you’re hooked! Sorry to hear about the price your body paid, but I’m sure it will be worth it in the end. I’ve ripped many a pair of pants and chipped teeth and cut and bruised myself, so many times. Trick-lining is akin to meat tenderizing. I started this blog with the intention of spreading awareness and curiosity to as many people as possible :) I’m so excited to hear it’s working! Get yourself a line, you won’t regret it!
:) You’re awesome! Thank you kindly
